On May 4, we invited your family to join us in visiting the new exhibit at the High, Young Americans, Photographs by Sheila Pree Bright.  This dynamic new body of work by the Atlanta-based photographer is a portraiture project exploring the attitudes and opinions of young Americans (18-25 years old) toward their nation and their identity as Americans.  After we viewed the exhibit, we met as a group at the Woodruff Arts Center for the family dialogue topic - What does it mean to be an American?  Many of you had strong emotions awakened by the pictures, the description of the photographs and our discussion afterwards.  Let’s continue this dialogue online. The Atlanta Dialogues Blog
By reflecting on the 40th anniversary of Martin Luther King's Assassination, The Atlanta Dialogue is utilizing art of all disciplines this year to discuss where we are in the civil rights continuum.  We want to know how you feel – How have we progressed as a nation with civil rights?  What does it mean to be an American today?  Where are we on the journey that Dr King started 40 years ago?
