Join composer, producer, and artist-in-residence Dwight Andrews as he invokes the contributions of jazz musicians whose music captures the hopes and courage of the men and women who fought against injustice in the struggle for equality. This special evening performance will feature compositions written in response to the struggle for civil rights by such noted jazz musicians as Max Roach, Charles Mingus, and John Coltraine as well as contemporary expressions by Bobby McFerrin and other composers of our time.

Andrews will lead the Atlanta Jazz Chorus and musicians including nationally recognized vibraphonist Jay Hoggard and Atlanta’s own Gary Mottley, Moffett Morris, Melvin Jones, and Che Marshall.
